Well, 2020 has been a very strange and challenging year for all of us in many and varied ways. For me, losing most of my live work, has allowed me more time to write and record and this particular body of work has been a great escape from everything happening around me. I like a story and with this album I delved into what is a huge amount of vintage story telling in the shape of film noir. I've edited 9 films from the 30s, 40s & 50s into what are essentially sub stories from film soundtracks and put them to mostly contemporary hip hop beats and then coloured with jazz-tinged pianos and upright basses. All the track titles are the original movie titles. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed putting them together and that you too can escape into the story lines for a little while.
